ABSTRACT
All life types require water to survive. Our civilizations were largely born on the water’s edge. In the Pilibhit region of northern Uttar Pradesh, close to the Madhogani Tanda village, the Gomati River is situated south of the Himalayan foothills. It travels nearly 940 kilometers through nine districts in Uttar Pradesh as it moves southeast. This river discharges significant quantities of industrial, agricultural, and human waste as it passes through densely populated areas of Uttar Pradesh. Major cities along this river, including Lakhimpurkheri, Lucknow, Sultanpur, and Jaunpur, are a significant source of the residential and municipal garbage and sewage water that pollutes the river. The quality of the water has, however, recently suffered greatly. The reasons for this are the worsening of water quality brought on by population growth, fast industrialization, and agricultural practices. Numerous harmful effects of water pollution include the extinction of marine life and the emergence of numerous deadly human diseases including cholera, malaria, tuberculosis, etc. Water pollution is thus a significant and grave global issue of concern. Because it destroys the environment, which we depend on, water pollution is important. In the end, destroying the environment lowers the standard of our own life. According to a research study, a significant number of drains that reach the river Gomti carrying untreated home and industrial garbage are to blame for the river’s pollution. The goal of the current paper is to explore the different personal actions that can be taken to address the issue of Gomti River water contamination.
