ABSTRACT
This essay critically examines the problem of illegal immigration, as well as its causes and potential legal solutions. The focus is on India; however, it is recognised that illegal immigration is a global issue that has become increasingly frequent as a result of multiple globalisation processes. Migrants make up about 3% of the world’s population, which is a considerable amount. Illegal immigration has surged as a result of a variety of factors, including international conflict, unstable regimes, and dire economic conditions. Sub-Saharan Africa, the Horn region of Africa, countries in Latin America, Afghanistan, and a few nations in southern Asia have had the largest influxes of illegal immigrants.
