Our world has undergone a tremendous transformation because of the digital era, extraordinary interconnectivity, and access to information. Nevertheless, the digital age has also resulted in an alarming rise in cybercrime. Governments, corporations, and individuals have been compelled to act in response to the sophistication and audacity of hackers and cybercriminals by creating cybersecurity laws and regulations. To put it another way, it is a crime that has evolved because of the advancement of the internet because the infrastructure of the internet has allowed it to grow at an exponential rate.

Therefore, it is essential to understand the factors that make individuals vulnerable to online fraud, assess the level of awareness and knowledge of individuals regarding online fraud, and determine the measures that can be taken to combat online fraud effectively. The article explores a variety of cybercrimes, including hacking, phishing, and other similar illegal behaviours. It also looks at preventative actions that people can take to safeguard themselves against online fraud and other potential dangers and the impact of the increase in cybercrime and the changing landscape of cybersecurity law has also been explored.
