ABSTRACT
This research paper examines the multifaceted challenges of cross-border marriages and explores the various issues faced by people entering into marriage. National borders A mixed-methods study combines qualitative interviews and quantitative research to capture the varied experiences of couples living in such unions. Objectives include identifying cultural differences, legal complexities and common barriers to social integration.
Our findings show that cross-border marriages are complicated by cultural clashes as partners negotiate different values, traditions and expectations. Legal complexities emerge as a significant issue, ranging from visa complexities to ownership and custody issues. Social integration adds further complexity by affecting individuals’ sense of belonging and community acceptance.
The book adds valuable insights to the existing literature by offering strategies and recommendations to address these challenges. By understanding the nuanced issues couples face in cross-border marriages, policymakers, professionals, and communities can work to foster a more supportive and inclusive environment for these unions. The purpose of this study is to stimulate dialogue, inform policy-making and ultimately contribute to a more just and harmonious society in the complex situation of cross-border marriage.
