ABSTRACT
In this Article, the researcher has discussed the types of Emergencies in the Constitution of India. What are the circumstances under which these Emergencies are imposed by the Government? Why the National Emergency imposed in 1975 by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi known as Black Day in Indian Democracy and the reason behind the declaration of an Emergency? Was there an abuse of power and authority and what are the effects of the declaration of an Emergency on the citizens of the Nation?.
