ABSTRACT
There is widespread substance usage, with a variety of substances being utilized. There are many different types of substance abusers in India. This has detrimental effects on morbidity and mortality. The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985 is the law in India. (NDPS) offers the basis for the nation’s drug misuse management. Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2011, corrects the NDPS Act inconsistencies.
This paper offers a critical analysis of the steps made so far to curb drug misuse in our nation.
