ABSTRACT
Prison is one of the social institutions that functions as a reformatory environment to those who don’t follow the law or cause social unrest. As section of society, offenses exist within prison, and to be more specific, rape culture exists in prison, where it is often overlooked by society and authorities.
Life in jail is already difficult, and having such atrocities committed against them adds to their sufferings and puts them in a position where they are forlorn and abused. We will discuss the subject of sexual victimizations or sexual assaults within the world’s reformative walls, namely prisons, in this article. We will also talk about some examined statistics about sexual assaults in jails. Then we’ll look at the provisions relating to in-custody rape cases, and we’ll talk about various amendments to help improve the situation.
